Introduction to Massage will teach students the basics of massage therapy and techniques to use on family and friends. This is a great starting point for someone who is looking to change careers and wants to experience what being a therapist will be like before committing to a Diploma course. Massage therapy has a long history in cultures around the world. Today, people use many different types of massage therapy for a variety of health-related purposes. In Ireland, massage therapy is often considered to be part of complementary and alternative medicine. Complementary medicine is used together with conventional medicine and not as a substitute. Together they complement each other to promote health and wellness as well as awareness of ones body, mind and spirit.
